Ski 4 Yellow & Ride 4 Yellow
The 4 Yellow Foundation featured two fundraising events each year in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Ski 4 Yellow
offered locals and tourists a chance to raise money for cancer research and treatment while skiing and riding alongside the Steamboat Olympians that led each group. I was honored to photograph both the on-mountain events and doing a photo booth for the evening gala. Ride 4 Yellow
saw a mixture of amateur and pro-cyclists like Dave Wiens and Lance Armstrong
raising Cancer-busting funds by traversing the gorgeous Continental Divide Trail from Rabbit Ears Pass to the Steamboat Resort. I coordinated multiple photographers spread throughout the course, quickly imported and tagged their images in order to select the best image per individual rider, and then rushed to a local printer to ensure that each commemorative plaque handed out after someone crossed the finish line contained an awesome photo of them out on the trail. This was probably the most complex photography logistics project that I have ever run.
Together, these events raised over $1 million in the fight against cancer,
with half of the proceeds going to Livestrong and the other half granted to local cancer initiatives.
